WORK SMART, LEARN
FAST -- Remembering multiple tenses and irregular verbs can be a
frustrating experience when learning a new language. ESL Guide Kenneth Beare applies
practical goals and objectives to learning English, or any foreign tongue. (Added 01.10.2000)
Lesson Plans -- ESL
Wonderland -- Kent Trickel has designed a number of lesson plans for ESL
students oriented around class debates. There's also a comprehensive essay/lesson plan on
using multimedia computers in ESL classrooms.
ESL Partyland
AND Learning English -- There
are two sides to Karin's ESL Partyland. Discussion forums and email exchanges at this site
allow teachers to get in touch with other ESL professionals. In addition, there are links
to ESL teaching tips and materials organized under these headings: grammar; conversation;
listening & speaking; reading, writing & vocabulary; teaching with music; and,
teaching with the Internet. Karin Cintron's advice for students wishing to learn
English is to "practice, practice, practice." With this in mind, she has
developed a wide range of ways for students to use her web site for practice. Activities
available on her web site (and/or through external links) include: interactive quizzes,
real time chats, discussion groups, opportunities to talk about popular themes (e.g.,
music, movies), and e-pals.
